Ways to Learn at UC Clermont

Class Type Definitions

Courses can be taught in many different ways at UC Clermont. Courses are available in person, online or a combination of the two! It is up to you how (and where) you will learn.

Asynchronous: A class that is entirely online without any specified meeting times.

Synchronous: A class that is entirely online at set meeting times. Students will log in at the same time so that they can participate in live discussions or other activities.

Hybrid: A class that has some required in-person learning and other learning online.

HyFlex: A class that is taught in-person, but each student freely makes their own decision daily as to whether they will participate in-person or online, regardless of which section they are registered for.
